PPBM’s enters Sabah to keep ‘things in order”: Mandut

TAWAU, Feb 18, 2019:
Existing Warisan-linked political parties in Sabah should not be worried of Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia’s entry into the state.
Describing the move as “no surprise”, Parti Bersatu Sabah Youth Chief Christopher Mandut said that PBBM has the right to set foot in Sabah, because “it is a free country”.
“I do not understand why Sabah PKR Chief Datuk Christina Liew is complaining. She claims that the nine-month-old (Warisan-led) State Government is doing well, so why worry PPBM’s entry?” he questioned, stressing that a well governed administration should not feel threatened by a newcomer.
Mandut, however, pointed out the fact that a seasoned politician like Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad has decided to spread its wings to Sabah showed that “he felt something amiss somewhere”.
“He (Mahathir) is no foolish man. If he knows everything is in order, do you think he wants tp come here? If the Warisan Government is doing such a good job, then why is PBBM coming in to ‘disturb’?
“Maybe that is why PPBM is entering Sabah. He (Mahathir) is sending his party to Sabah to improve things. Plus she (Liew) should be happy PPBM is coming, at least her president (Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim) can now concentrate in Malaya,” he said, today.
Mandut noted that in last nine months, business activities had gone down because people are not spending.
“The absence of welfare aid like the 1Malaysia People’s Aid (BR1M) and the drop of commodity prices have badly affected the rakyat. People are complaining,” he said.
Liew, in a recent statement, said PPBM’s entry to strengthen Parti Warisan came to a surprise since the State Government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Datuk Seri Shafie Apdal was doing very well.
