PBS sacks Sekong division chief found campaigning for Opposition

KOTA KINABALU: Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS) has taken disciplinary action against one of its members found working with the Opposition.

The party on Thursday (May 3) sacked its Sekong division chief, Bonni Narsiso, after he was discovered campaigning for an Opposition candidate in Sandakan. PBS secretary-general Datuk Johnny Mositun (pic) said the party had been monitoring Narsiso's movement for the past two months before expelling him. "We are aware that he has been 'dancing' with the Opposition. "He is not a quality party leader and not a good model for others to follow," he said. Mositun added that similar action would also be taken against other members if they are found fraternising with the enemy. The decision, which took effect immediately, was in accordance with PBS' Constitution under Article 31 (ii), where the party President has the right to sack any member with immediate effect for neglecting their responsibility and going against the party's interest. PBS is the second largest component party of Sabah Barisan Nasional.- The Star
