PBS Matunggong still intact

KOTA MARUDU, Aug 13, 2018:

Only a limited few of the Parti Bersatu Sabah Matunggong divisional leaders jumped ship to join Parti Warisan.

In short, despite its Chief Sarapin Magana and several few’s resignations, the division is still intact.

“Those who left, including Sarapin, had already asked to be relieved of their posts and did not  contest in the on-going divisional election,” said, acting PBS Youth Chief, Christopher Mandut, here.

Speaking at the PBS N5 Tandek 33rd Annual General Meeting, today, Mandut, who is also the PBS Tandek Youth Chief, explained that many of those who left had done so to protect their jobs.

“Many (of those who left) are also working for statutory bodies and as native chiefs. As for Tandek, only three former divisional leaders left the party and did not stand for re-election in this morning’s party AGM.

“The rest were just branch chiefs, some holding politically appointed posts in the previous government and they are doing all they can to try salvage their jobs,” said Mandut.

He, however, stressed that the resignations will in no way affect the functioning of the PBS Matunggong and Tandek divisions.

“We wish them all the best as they try to protect their jobs against the tyranny of the Warisan government installed by UPKO which betrayed Barisan Nasional in the last 14th General Election,” he said.
