Mohamaddin’s recent comment shows he is an irresponsible leader

KOTA KINABALU, Sept 22, 2020:
A recent remark by Warisan’s election candidate in Segama on the security force in the infamous Tanduo intrusion reflects the kind of poor leader Mohamaddin Ketapi is.
Decsribing it as bad taste, especially coming from a senior politician, Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS) Deputy President Datuk Dr Yee Moh Chai added that Mohamaddin’s comments were insensitive towards the feelings of our Malaysia’s fallen heroes families.
“Yes, he apologies, but for a former Tourism, Arts and Culture Minister to say that our security forces were battling with chicken and dogs in the first place is a great insult especially to our security forces, who died protecting our country. By mocking the sacrifices made by our country security forces, goes to show that the Warisan leaders are lacking respect for our frontliners,” said Dr Yee.
“If Mohamaddin is a reflection of the standard of Warisan leadership, then Sabah’s future will be in jeopardy if they are returned to power. It seems that Warisan leaders have a habit of distorting the truth to suit their political agenda,” Dr Yee stressed.
Dr Yee noted that the 2013 Lahad Datu intrusion by over 200 Sulu militants was a black day for Sabah as it was an attack on the sovereignty of Malaysia.
“Lives have been lost because of the intrusion, yet we now have a Warisan leader making a joke of it, belittling not only the sacrifices by our security forces but also denying the existence of an attack on our country.”
Dr Yee further added that Warisan’s claim of wanting to rule the state on its own without federal government involvement is just their political gimmick to mislead the people of Sabah.
“Can the Warisan government really protect Sabah from outside threat, especially now that the Philippines government is making a bold claim on Sabah as part of their country?” he asked.
Mohamaddin’s remark had forced his president Datuk Seri Shafie Apdal to apologise and acknowledge the contribution of the security forces in protecting Sabah show the importance of having a good relation between state and federal government.
