Business as usual for PBS Kuamut

LABUK, Oct 5, 2019:

The Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS) Labuk Division remains intact despite the recent defection of Labuk Assemblyman and division chief Abdul Rahman Kongkawang to Parti Warisan.

Its acting division chief Jonnybone Kurum said Rahman's sudden move to join Parti Warisan Sabah had not dampen their spirit, and vowed to work even harder.

"We felt betrayed but respect his decision. He left us at a time when we needed him most ... but the PBS Labuk Division will continue to thrive.

"It is actually business as usual for us, and will continue to focus on our activities and the party's struggle," he said after chairing the party’s Labuk division meeting today.

The meeting was also attended by the division’s youth and women movement committee members.

Jonnybone, who is also the party’s Central Youth Movement Deputy Head, said members and supporters of PBS are determined to continue to make Labuk as its stranglehold.

He also said that PBS Labuk will continue its focus to assist in setting up the party’s division at the newly created Telupid State seat as mandated by the PBS supreme council.

Jonnybone said the division is heartened with the unrelenting support and guidance from the PBS leadership particularly from president Datuk Seri Dr Maximus Ongkili and Labuk PBS icon and former Assemblyman Datuk Seri Michael Asang.

Just about a week ago, Rahman tendered his resignation as PBS vice president and PBS Labuk division head to join Warisan.
